CITY IMPACT
Neighbor 2 Neighbor
​This CITY IMPACT class provides important training for our City Impact NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR, (N2N) project. In today's rushed busy world with cell phones demanding our attention, many of us have lost touch with people around us.
It is time to get to know our neighbors. In these difficult times, many are struggling to get by, experiencing illness, grieving the loss of a loved one, and others may just feel isolated without family nearby. Perhaps they are open for someone to reach out in genuine love. We will be sending out teams to visit and share the love of God, in our own neighborhood. If you would like to impact your city for Christ, this "caring and sharing initiative is for you.
38 CITY LEADERS throughout Orange County will help recruit others to join our team. Neighborhood LEADS will open their homes to 4 Walkers. Neighborhood Leads will support the walking teams and report to the CITY LEADER. On-going training prepare and support the effort. Volunteers will learn many skills; Creating good first impressions and developing relationships, how to be a good listener, what questions should be asked, praying with people and meeting tangible needs. Partnerships with other non-profit providers will enable us to respond to community needs. In this divided world we will learn to build bridges and have opportunities to dialog with others with different views, sharing our stories and testimonies. Encouraging others on their journey.
It will be exciting to meet inspiring guest speakers who have walked neighborhoods and love getting to know others close by. Many will discover the joy in developing new friendships. We hope this will be a wonderful new experience and a time of great personal growth as we fulfill the Great Commandment to love others and the Great Commission to go and reach out to share the Good News of God's love.
Like Nehemiah the Prophet, we will be doing the same thing, at the same time, in our neighborhood, along with thousands of people. Together, with strong leaders, and open hearts, we can repair broken walls and make our communities a better place.
