CITY IMPACT
Neighbor 2 Neighbor

CITY IMPACT N2N

NEIGHBOR 2 NEIGHBOR

A "Caring and Sharing" Initiative

This OCM CITY IMPACT class provides important training for our City Impact NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR, (N2N) project.

In today's rushed busy world with cell phones demanding our attention, many of us have lost touch with people around us. For instance, do you know your neighbors, have you taken the time to listen to them and understand their needs and concerns? Or have you shared in their joys?

Jesus gave us a commandment to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. In these difficult times, many are struggling to get by, experiencing illness, grieving the loss of a loved one, and others may just feel isolated without family nearby. Perhaps they are open for someone to reach out in genuine love.

We will be sending teams to visit and to share the love of God, right where we live, in our own neighborhood.

If you would like to impact your city for Christ, through our initiative of caring and sharing, this class is for you.

We are recruiting CITY LEADERS, who are spirited "go-getters" who want to lead and will oversee 60 Neighborhood LEADS. Applications will be available at our first class meeting.

Our CITY LEADERS will help us enlist Neighborhood LEADS who will use their homes to host our WALKING TEAMS. Through their connections, CITY LEADERS will also open doors for our team to come and speak to community leaders, church members and community groups to engage others in this exciting outreach project.

Whether you want to walk door to door, host walkers in your home or lead an entire city you will need this important training. We will meet weekly for 8 sessions. For a total of 20 hours of instruction and neighborhood volunteer service.

Our class will teach many skills. We will be showing you how to create a relationship, how to be a good listener, how to ask questions and how we as a community can meet tangible needs. Partnerships with other non-profit providers will enable us to respond to community needs. In this divided world we will learn to build bridges and have opportunities to dialog with others with different views.

It will be exciting to meet inspiring guest speakers who have walked neighborhoods and love getting to know others close by. They have found great joy in developing new friendships.

At our class meetings we will be receiving reports from each city and neighborhood. As we share our experiences and listen to others, we will be learning new ways to effectively help people.

We hope this will be a wonderful new experience and a time of great personal growth as we fulfill the great commission to go and reach out to others around us.

It will be exiting to do the same thing, at the same time, in our neighborhood, along with thousands of people. Together, with strong leaders, we can repair broken walls and make our communities a better place.
